Let sit for one to five minutes. Let the stain dry. Using a foam brush apply pre-stain wood conditioner in the direction of the wood grain.
Stain the cracks between the planks if youre also staining a tabletop. Next use a sponge or brush to evenly apply a coat of the stain in one continuous movement along the grain. To stain wood start by sanding the surface with sandpaper then using a damp cloth to wipe away any debris or dust.
Clean unfinished wood with a damp rag before staining. Use a natural-bristle brush to apply the stain on the wood and then let it sit. Dip the edge of your brush in the stain and apply a thin layer of stain to the surface of the wood.
