Weathered Wood Paint
To create a weathered wood finish the first thing I do is paint my entire piece using a neutral chalk paint.

Im a firm believer in using what you have on hand and never letting paint go to waste so I grabbed some brown paint I had sitting around sadly with no name and watered it down pretty good so that it was easy to wipe and blend.

Once the paint was dry on the top I poured directly onto the surface a bit of Fusions Stain Finishing Oil in the color Driftwood. This allows you to gain the rustic aged appearance without detracting from the natural grain of the wood. You could use gray or beige or something in between I just made my own using my homemade chalk paint recipe.
