A lcohol from beverages and cosmetic products can result in stains on the wooden surfaces of your home. Remove the alcohol or mineral spirits with another cloth. Video of the Day. If the stain is deeper the piece will have to be refinished. I was stripping down and refinishing it as a project anyway hoping that would solve it but the alcohol had gone through the finish and stained the bare wood.
